Terms of Service

1. Acceptance and purpose

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The provider identified for Roleya in the applicable App Store listing is referred to as “Roleya,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” These Terms form a binding agreement between you and that provider.

2. Definitions

• “User” means a person who accesses or uses the Service.
• “Account” means the credentials and profile associated with a User.
• “User Content” means text, images, messages, profile information, and other material a User submits, publishes, or transmits through the Service.
• “AI Participant” means an account or conversation participant whose replies may be generated with artificial intelligence.
• “AI Output” means content generated by an AI-enabled feature in response to a User’s message or other input.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into this agreement. By using Roleya, you represent that you meet these requirements.

You agree to provide lawful and materially accurate registration and profile information. You are responsible for safeguarding your device, Apple account, authentication credentials, and access to Roleya. You must promptly secure your account if you suspect unauthorized use.

You may not sell, transfer, rent, or share access to your Account; create an Account for a person who has not authorized you; evade an Account restriction; or use automated means to create or operate Accounts.

We may reject or delay registration where reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent abuse, comply with law, or address technical limitations.

4. The Service

Roleya is a location-prioritized social service. Depending on the version and availability in your region, the Service may include:

• public profiles and city-based discovery;
• nearby prioritization using approximate distance ranges;
• posts, images, likes, profile visits, and personal activity lists;
• one-to-one direct messaging, read status, and push notifications;
• AI Participants and AI-generated replies; and
• reporting, hiding, blocking, and other safety controls.

Features may be experimental, changed, limited, or introduced gradually. The in-app experience controls which features are currently available to you.

5. Our obligations

We will use reasonable care to operate the Service, protect personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, provide legally required notices, and maintain processes for addressing reports and security concerns.

We will not knowingly disclose your non-public information except as permitted by the Privacy Policy, directed by you, or required to operate the Service, protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.

6. Your obligations and prohibited conduct

You are responsible for your use of Roleya and for User Content submitted through your Account. You must not use the Service to:

• violate any applicable law or another person’s rights;
• harass, bully, stalk, threaten, exploit, or discriminate against another person;
• publish sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, graphic violence, or content that endangers minors;
• impersonate another person, misrepresent affiliation, commit fraud, or solicit passwords, verification codes, or financial information;
• publish another person’s private or precise location information without authorization;
• send spam, unauthorized promotions, scams, malicious links, or repetitive bulk messages;
• infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights;
• scrape, crawl, index, copy, or collect Service data through automated means without written permission;
• probe, bypass, disable, or interfere with access controls, rate limits, moderation systems, or technical safeguards;
• introduce malware, overload infrastructure, reverse engineer protected components, or disrupt other Users; or
• help another person carry out any prohibited activity.

7. User Content and licenses

You retain ownership of rights you hold in User Content. You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to submit it and that doing so does not violate law or another person’s rights.

To operate the Service, you grant Roleya a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, resize, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, moderate, and improve the Service. This license ends when the relevant content or Account is deleted, except for limited copies retained in backups, safety records, legal records, or content already lawfully shared with others.

You understand that public profile information and published posts may be visible to other Users. Direct messages are visible to conversation participants and may be processed by systems needed to deliver, secure, or generate AI-enabled replies.

We may remove or restrict User Content when we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, creates a safety risk, infringes rights, or must be removed by law.

8. AI-enabled features

Some participants may be AI Participants. AI Output is generated probabilistically and may be false, outdated, biased, offensive, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Roleya does not guarantee its accuracy, originality, legality, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

AI Output is not medical, legal, financial, mental-health, emergency, or other professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating it before relying on, publishing, or acting on it. Never use Roleya as an emergency service.

You must not deliberately manipulate AI-enabled features to generate unlawful, exploitative, hateful, sexually abusive, dangerous, or rights-infringing content, or attempt to bypass AI safety measures. If you share AI Output outside Roleya, you are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful and does not harm others.

9. Location and offline interactions

Nearby information is approximate. It may be affected by device accuracy, network conditions, stale data, or technical limitations. Distance ranges and city labels do not verify another User’s identity, current location, intentions, or safety.

You are solely responsible for deciding whether to communicate with or meet another User. If you meet in person, use a public place, tell someone you trust, arrange your own transportation, and avoid sharing your home address, identification, financial details, passwords, or verification codes.

Roleya is not a background-check, identity-verification, matchmaking, or emergency service and does not supervise offline interactions.

10. Safety, reporting, and enforcement

Roleya provides tools to hide content, report Users or content, and block Accounts. Blocking is designed to separate the affected Users across discovery, posts, messages, and other interactions, but no safety control can eliminate every risk.

We may review reports and related information, preserve evidence, limit distribution, remove content, restrict functionality, suspend or terminate Accounts, and cooperate with lawful authorities. We may act without advance notice when reasonably necessary to prevent harm, secure the Service, or comply with law.

Enforcement decisions may consider context, severity, repetition, risk, and available evidence. We are not required to disclose confidential safety methods, another User’s private information, or details that could enable abuse.

11. Changes, availability, and third-party services

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features for operational, security, legal, or product reasons. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice when reasonably possible and required.

The Service may be unavailable during maintenance, incidents, provider outages, network failures, force majeure events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Roleya relies on third-party services, including Apple, Cloudflare, and configured AI model providers. Their services may be governed by separate terms and may change or become unavailable. Roleya is not responsible for third-party products outside our reasonable control.

Future paid features

The current Service may be offered without charge. If paid features are introduced, pricing, billing, cancellation, refunds, and purchase rights will be disclosed before purchase and may also be governed by Apple’s applicable rules and supplemental terms.

12. Account termination and deletion

You may stop using Roleya at any time. You may permanently delete your Account from Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible and removes Account data and owned media from active systems, subject to limited retention described in the Privacy Policy.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, repeatedly infringe rights, threaten another person, misuse technical systems, or if continued access is no longer legally or operationally possible.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain effective, including provisions concerning ownership, licenses already exercised, safety records, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and disputes.

13. Roleya intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, interfaces, documentation, and non-User content, is owned by or licensed to Roleya and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.

Except where law permits otherwise, you may not copy, sell, license, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit protected parts of the Service without prior written permission.

If you voluntarily provide suggestions, you grant Roleya permission to use them without restriction or compensation, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Roleya disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.

Roleya does not warrant User Content, AI Output, recommendations, approximate distance, third-party services, or the identity, conduct, statements, or intentions of any User. You use the Service and interact with others at your own judgment and risk.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roleya will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities; or harm arising from another User, an offline interaction, User Content, AI Output, or a third-party service.

Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted in your jurisdiction and does not limit liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or another liability that law does not allow us to exclude.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Roleya harmless from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful User Content, your material breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

16. Changes to these Terms and notices

We may update these Terms when the Service, our practices, or applicable law changes. We will post the revised Terms, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required or when a change materially affects your rights.

Changes take effect on the stated effective date. If you continue to use the Service after that date, you agree to the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may delete your Account.

We may provide notices through the Service, push notification, the website, or contact information associated with your Account. General notices may be posted publicly where permitted by law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Roleya provider identified in the relevant App Store listing, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory law of your place of residence provides otherwise.

Before filing a formal claim, you and Roleya agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in this section limits a non-waivable consumer right or your ability to contact a regulator.

18. General terms and contact

These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement concerning the Service unless supplemental terms expressly apply. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; Roleya may assign them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
